Yeah, I saw someone asking about kilns. I suggest the Skutt KM 818. Just right! Don't forget to get the shelves and stilts and if your budget permits, get the exhaust system too! Hope this helps. Cheers! http://www.skutt.com/products/km-818.html

Art songs my classes have enjoyed  are:

ROY G BIV (by They might Be Giants from a great CD "Here Comes Science" and it is on youtube)

"Vincent Van Gogh" by Jonathan Richman (on youtube the song is accompanied by a slide show of Van Gogh's work)

Here's an inspiring website by Nancy Walkup that describes her elementary curriculum very well.

I am trying to create a bank of songs that teach the younger grades certain art elements. For example I made a up a song about the primary colours for my nursery classes. I was wondering if anyone had any other songs that they have used that they found successful.

Here is the song I made up (please remember I am an Art teacher so my musical skills are lacking), this song worked a treat for my 3 and 4 year olds and now I need to create of find a Secondary Colour song.

The Primary Colour Song
(sung to the tune of I am being swallowed by a Boa Constrictor)

The Primary colours are Red, Blue and Yellow
The Primary colours are Red, Blue and Yellow
The Primary colours are Red, Blue and Yellow
And I like them very much!

Take a look at these great videos done by Tricial Fugelstad's students. You may want to use some in your classroom. Kendra
