Hi, currently teaching MYP but taught GCSE Art and Design in UK, teaching IGCSE next year. collecting resources. As i find them I will share.

With examination boards for IGCSE Cambridge is very traditional and restrictive. Edexcel also offer an International GCSE.

Hi All, my principal announced to staff yesterday that we will now drop the MYP in our Year 9-10 and pick up the IGCSE course. We currently have a very strong program based on the Australian NSW system which allows for a lot of photography and video course work. After a quick look over the syllabus I don't really see a big spot for this as it will be examination based assessment in the end. What is the feeling generally with examinations and digital media students? Do you have any advice on implementation of a new program where contemporary art is valued? We have a hi turn over of students so skill building is difficult, we have lead ourselves to split of Visual Arts into two programs, one fine arts based the other more digital media. Could you see a arrangement like this working under the IGCSE?

Any advice would be great.

Hi, I am also used to teaching MYP and IBDP Visual Arts, and now am teaching IGCSE Art - can anyone upload some examples of IGCSE projects/themes which were successful in their classes?

Many thanks!

Chris
