8th grade Illuminated Letters

Hi Aimee,

I started the unit off with a presentation on Medieval manuscripts (especially the Book of Kells) and then put the students to work researching and designing an illumination of one of the letters in their name.  We transferred them to linoleum and block printed a variety of color combinations.  They really got into it and were very patient when it came to carving out all the tiny details!
