More from the UN & My Student's Human Rights Issue Posters...

I was notified a couple of days ago that one of my student's posters from the graphic design unit that focused upon the MYP unit of inquiry about global issues, more specifically human rights issues, has been posted on the United Nations main page found in resources under the Office for Sustainable Development.

My student and I were truly honored to get this news!

Yeehaw Texas!

Just came back from a very enlightening workshop in Austin Texas for IB MYP 2 in Art. Came away with a possible collaboration with a students in Florida and my students.

I am now even more convinced of IB in that is protects the Arts in light of this area of study is apparently on the cutting-block for many schools due to economy issues. Art isn't an option in IB but a core and I LOVE that!

My husband took this photo for us in the Austin airport.

Hi Vanessa,

I love all the work you do with your students...I want to try out all your lessons!  Yes, I am the lucky person who stumbled upon your website many months ago and I refer to it from time to time for new ideas.

i would love to try out the recycled paper sculptures.  they turned out so beautifully!  would you mind giving me a few tips on how to create them?  did students use a hot glue gun to stick the pieces together?  were they glued onto a square shaped wooden board?  thank you for sharing these lessons.  they are fantastic!  :)

Your students truly make magnificent work!  Thanks for sharing your photos here.  It's great to be able to look through them for future project ideas.  By the way, thank you for sharing your mandala project description on your blog.  I did that project with my students and they seemed to really enjoy it.
