How is art an expression of the psychological, spiritual and cultural?

What are sacred spaces?

How and why are the sacred spaces of different cultures and beliefs important?

How do we draw interior spaces and angles?

How can we create different moods using different materials and techniques?

TIMELINE

1	Learn Sighting Technique 2 x DoRB Drawings (Exercise 20, 21) Complete 2 drawings of interior spaces using sighting technique. Each drawing should use a different material. Try and make them as different as possible.	Workbook Page 1
2	Watch Art 21 Program on Spaces Create a cover page that includes a Venn Diagram based on the 4 artists in the program. Respond to questions based on one artist.	Workbook page 2
3	HOMEWORK/FIELD TRIP- Take 10 Photographs of each “Sacred Space” Put photographs on school drive. Print a “Contact Sheet” for your photographs.	Workbook page 2
4	Choose 3 photographs (one from each space) to print.   Project Plan- Choose a project and brainstorm your ideas for it. How can you as an artist create a work that expresses how you feel about a sacred space? Image Manipualtion- Try different mixed media techniques based on photographs and perspective drawings. OUTCOMES

Outcome 1- At least one photograph of a sacred space using image manipulation to enhance mood.

Outcome 2-One mixed media or oil pastel artwork on board, based on the explorations of sacred spaces.

Outcome 3- 4 x A2 Workbook pages that document creative cycle.
