Sustainable Assemblage and Ready Made Art.
Trying to find a fun sustainable art project to do with another Year 5 class. Finding it difficult to rummage through the mass of eco craft that doesn't seem to invovle a lot of art skills. After doing some research on Google came across this website http://artinspired.pbworks.com/w/page/13819524/Assemblage-and-Ready... which had this fabulous website of a mosaic portrait artist called Jason Mecier, using ready made items assebled together to create a portrait of known celebrities. http://www.jasonmecier.com.
His junk portraits are inspiring! Stop making those junk models and rethink assamblage and the art skills involved! If showing the kids his images, just be aware some are inappropriate and keep a close eye on the objects he uses aswell. Will keep you posted on our developments for this project!

Hi Laura,
I haven't started this yet as our term has been pretty busy in the last few weeks. We are hoping to restart sometime soon...so hopefully photos to post. Good Luck with your project!

Great idea- thanks for posting this! planning to do a lesson based on it this term--I made a powerpoint of his work vieweable at http://artroomonline.com/?page_id=937 if anyone wants to use it.
